[ She remarks, waiting for his hand to feel warmer between her own. She doesn't say she thinks it'll be that way. Hope doesn't need the certainty, just the potential. Even the future doesn't know its own shape. ]
[His hand does warm gradually, as his power fades—Seria told him that he'd never given off an inhuman vibe on the outside, in spite of his demonic blood, and for that, he's glad.]
Well then, shall we find our way out of this area?
[ See, Karl, you do care. Even when you won't want to admit it... Anyway, as his one hand warms, Chihiro just invites herself to take up his opposite hand and free the first one up to make sure it likewise is warming up. ]
I don't mind doing that, but where are we finding our way to? Just away?
[ From the lights and the robots loudly offering services of various mostly innocent sounding kinds. ]
Hmm... maybe somewhere a bit more quiet [and safe-seeming] for us to catch our breath for a moment. There's gonna be a lot of things to take care of after that...
[They're going to be stuck in this world for a while, after all; they'll have to prepare as if this place will be their new (temporary) home.]
[ A nod; she's fine with that plan of action, though uh. Waiting for Karl to decide to take the lead. He's the more experienced party here, clearly he's got the better idea of what to do.
Her last time involved begging for employment so... ]
Like where to stay, and to work, and CERES and getting back our homes and friends.
Hmm? Yeah... Haha, seems like that's uncommon here, isn't it? But the existence of other worlds is general knowledge where I'm from [considering a major part of humanity's history is having to flee worlds, oops] and my job involved going through the Gate that connects them to investigate.
... Normally voluntarily, making this situation a new one for me.
[He does love his job, certain stressful elements excluded—but even then, he's always known that he wanted to be a Summoner, and he can't imagine doing anything else with his life.]
I'm part of the Demon Slayers division, so my main responsibility tends to be taking care of demons invading from elsewhere, or pursuing the especially dangerous ones to another world if necessary, but things like surveying new lands or handling any other issues that crop up when I'm there usually fall under my duties too.
[And things have definitely escalated in the recent year, but that's a detail he'll just keep to himself.]
In any case, the first and foremost objective is always to protect others—the best part, in my opinion.
That really does sound amazing... and you do it for a really good reason, too!
[he honestly admires that sort of thing, and his sincerity about it all shows pretty well. karl seems like a really good person to him, so he's just completely impressed by everything he's hearing.
...which honestly doesn't really take all that much when it's stahn, but that's beside the point.]
Demon Slayers... There must really be a lot of things to take care of there, too. [it sounds like something out of a book to him, but in the most interesting way possible.]
Haha... you can say that again. The world's never really safe, but we do our best.
[Karl's not looking for admiration, either way—at least not for himself, because there is definitely fondness in his voice with his next words.]
And I've got a lot of incredible friends, and there's not much they can't do, so I've got faith that we can deal with everything.
[... Most things. None of this stopped him from, er, opposing them once because he drew a line as to how far his faith could go, buuuuut he's not going to mention that.]
[that's a sentiment that resonates very closely with stahn, so even he can dial back the admiration a bit for the sheer ability to relate to what he's saying.]
Mm... It's a lot like that for me too. We have a lot we're facing back home, but my friends are all really strong and amazing too. So.. I'm believing in them a lot.
[it seems they really do have quite a bit in common off the bat, as far as stahn can see.]
[Though to be honest, while he knows he (sincerely) said that Kashuu seems to have good taste, the idea of leaving his wardrobe in his hands is a worrying one...]
Well, I wouldn't put it past this place to mess with us... but yeah, this kind of thing usually means we're not headed towards the exit.
[It should be a worrying one. He's gotta trust his gut instinct here... But at least Kashuu isn't so high fashion that he'd be like whoever styled the cast of Shiki.]
Ugh... I guess we just turn around, then? Ooor maybe we can just go down one of these other hallways! As long as we don't keep going this way, it should be fine.
[He sounds so sure for someone who's pulling shit out of thin air.]
I can imagine that... It's gotta be disorienting if it's not voluntary. Even knowing about other worlds, waking up here was still an experience for me.
chihiro;
Someone has to be chill, considering his usual company!!]
I wouldn't relish having to go like that forever, that's for sure... Hopefully, we won't have to face a repeat experience.
[Hopefully, they won't have to face worse, though Karl knows that that's a naive hope.]

[well, you know. except for the part about how this situation itself isn't voluntary and cerealia is just a big mess.

peanut;
Yeah, Kashuu is definitely the picture of modesty (no)...]
Probably! It's more than what I'd be able to put together for myself, anyway.
[...]
It's getting pretty dark in here, isn't it?

[Not to toot his own horn or anything (except yes, all the horn tooting.)
But at the mention of the light change, he glances back forward again - which is where he should have been looking the entire time?! - and blinks.]
Oh. Huh... Yeah, it is. I wonder if that means we're getting further from the exit?

Yeah, looks like it. Sorry about that.

[Leon just narrows his eyes at Karl, before he turns on his heel sharply to exit the level.
